Famous Leyland People

Is he David Lawton's brother, their dad was a solicitor? I think they lived in Sandy Lane, and remember seeing the miniature trees they were growing in the garden back in the sixties?

Noel:

If I remember correctly, the Lawton's lived on Church Road just east of the barn across from the Eagle, directly opposite the Pickup's big house. Yes, their dad was a solicitor.

Thanks Frank, yes now I recall, I remember the house being on a corner and the garden being full of miniature trees, but I only visited it the once.. John's quite an easy person to track down via google, looks like he's made quite a name for himself. I couldn't trace David though who was in my class at Balshaw's.

Noel I find thatpeople seem to be very reticent about joining friends reunited. I joined after my son told me about it and being nosy couldn't resist. I am on both schools also on Stanifield lane but apart from Eileen Damp there wasn't anybody I recognised so I was very glad when I stumbled across this site.[Big Grin]

I read somewhere Dedrah ( if one thing this forum has done it's taught me how to spell your name :-) ) that the Friends site was causing an increase in divorce rate because people were finding their former lovers through it, I'll take that with a pinch of salt. For my case there are a few people I remember including one ex-girl friend ( no, I'm not going there) but no-one seems to remember me. I can't tell you how good that makes me feel about myself, and the other thing Dedrah, they've all seemed to do better than me, I think I put a comment on to that effect. Anyway I'm glad you remember me because I was being to wonder whether I existed. <[:-)--

Noel if you are content with your life thats all that matters , it doesn't matter what other people have done. I must be honest I am very content with my life. I,m not saying that I would have done some things differently, but right now I am very happy with my life. In fact just glad to be alive as I nearly died 10 years ago with a brain haemorrhage, but like I told Frank at the time only the good die young so I should live to be 100!!!

He is regularly seen on satellite television promoting commercial vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles, Daf and the like. His program's are very interesting if you are into that stuff !! His program takes you into the factory where the trucks are produced, and he takes you through the whole assembly of the vehicle.
You didn't know about Tim did you ? He's a great guy, I've been fortunate to meet him and his family while on vacation in Leyland. Perhaps you've run into his wife Pam...she's heavy into Leyland real estate. Both great people.

Here is a photo taken just yesterday on our front porch of the Campbell's from Dunkirk Lane, Leyland. They were visiting the Los Angeles area and stopped by to see us.
My wife Doris is front right, my eldest son David is front left. Pam Campbell is center, head on hands, Tim and daughter Jessica are in the rear, son Liam was off somewhere with out grandson Kyle.
Anybody recognize them ??
