What about the "Lady" who paraded outside the Post Office during the War - was her name, I forget, she used to wear a fur coat and always had a word for the lads. (very tongue in cheek, sorry) I`ve mentioned before, Sergeants Pollitt and Turner of Leyland Police, they were famous!! and what about Butcher Lord? W.R.

For Noel(Mk11), I wonder if you can help me drag up a name from deep in the past? I`m guessing here - but I think the surname may have been Diamond (or something like it). He made props for members of the magic circle and lived in the East View area of Preston. Jim

Being new to this lark, and having thought I had posted, it appears that my thoughts vanished into the ether. I was only remarking that Sergeant Pollitt once caught me roller-skating on the pavement. He gave me a clip round the ear and said, "If I see you doing that again, I'll tell your mum." Those were the days when it was not PC for a PC to administer on-the-spot justice!
Before I became an actor I was a Police Cadet, first at Chorley, then Leyland. Does anyone remember me from those days?

There is still a member of The Magic Circle called Paul Diamond, who holds the degree of M.I.M.C. He now lives in Fort Lauderdale but he just could be the same one. [?]
