Anybody out there that used to go in the Bay Horse in the 60s?Remember Al Ray the landlord,Reg Grey or Gray his son in law that took over from him,Al Ross on the piano,Helen Robinson waitress,Johnny Lord and the Sunday Welsh Don school?

Used to go in there in the late sixties when we used to have a sally on sat night to the George, Eagle, Bummers etc, used to be a bit of community singing piano and harmonica. I remember Tom Livesy - grave digger for Tomlinsons undertakers, who used to serve the bar sometimes, he and the Sunday card school lads used to have as much as 20 pints in the Dinner time session of 2 1/2 hours, it was a big effort must have been lower alcohol then.

There were eight of us on a Sunday ,two schools of Don,loosers swopped tables,we'd play from 12.00 till 4.00 ish,a stop behind,doors locked.Can't remember names like I should ,but there was Ernie Cunliffe(lived in Hastings Road)John Lord,Jock ?Wilf ?(think he worked for Devers Coal}Harold ?{lived on Fox Lane}Alan Rowley and myself Dick Owen.
