Turning back the clock to when I first started watching them with a bit of luck. I'm not very happy with the choice of referee, he's the one who gave Man U a penalty for the infamous Rooney dive against Arsenal. I hope the game is decided fairly and not by a similar elaborate swan-dive leading to a penalty. ...........unless it's for North End of course. :-)--

What time is kick off? I went to Preston on Friday and there were big banners everywhere wishing them luck, from the city council no less!!

It`s a 3PM kick-off, Dedrah. By 4.45PM we COULD be a premiership club. It`s sure going to be nailbiting stuff.

Before the 1939-45 War, when I worked at Leylands in North Works,we had to work Saturday mornings.

The cry was always echoed through the works of "Come on the Lily-Whites" from the clubs faithful on match day.

Are they still called that? If not, I`ll say it for old time`s sake once more - "COME ON THE LILY-WHITES" - and Good Luck to you all, especially to Tom Finney, who I believe will lead them out.

Ferguson of Man U. will never be seen in the same light as Tom Finney if he lives to be 100.

Commiserations to PNE tonight. I know it's no consolation to the fans right now, but fingers crossed that next season PNE do well enough to move up to the big time.

A great day today. I shook the hands of so many West Ham supporters after the game. I'm disappointed obviously but the better team won.

Ah well there is always next season,when hopefully they will go up as of right rather than a play off.

They are known as the lily whites William but usually the shout is "come on the whites" reference to the colour of their shirts. Looking at Sir Tom, how fit he looks I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the century mark. What a wonderful servant he has been to the club. Old fashioned values that have been replaced by greed in his modern contemparies.

Noel, Sorry for P.N.E. Your comments about modern standards remind of something my father said in the 1940`s just after the War.

He said "There are two things you should worry about, for the future of civilisation - OIL and GREED, remember that" Shortly afterwards he died on the day before his 65th birthday.

Need I say more in today`s climate?

Cheers William, I'm sure he was right. As for the game, well it is only a game, if it cheered the west hame fan I saw before the game, a lad with no legs being pushed round in a wheel chair, it was worth west ham winning. Brilliant atmosphere though I took a few photos and video shots but the videos are too large to put on the web.
