Preston North End 2004-2005
Noel, One consolation, I suppose, is the fact that we shall win far more games next season in the Championship than we would have done had we won on Monday.
I suppose that this leaves us wide open for remarks some other members of the forum.
At least there are two of us who wish them well.

Well said Jim, there's a couple of charlatans who need their heads knocking together :-)
I was thinking exactly the same thing, it could have been embarrasing in the Prem, we'd only have a chance against some of the lesser teams like West Brom , Wigan, Blackburn.

Ah yes Noel, I remember when Skeffington Road and Lowthorpe Street used to be just like that prior to kick off. That was the 'good old days' when I used to pay 3d to park my bicycle at one of the houses opposite Deepdale.
Thanks for the photo's. I was at the stadium for the Arsenal v Southampton Cup Final a couple of years ago. It is a great stadium. I just hope the new Wembley will be as good.

I remember those days too David. As we got off the railway station this is what we were greeted with. "My gawd" I said, "where's our lot". Of course we had got off at the south end of the stadium and North End supporters appropriately were at the North End .

Noel, the guy on the right of the photo, isn't that the guy that scored the winning goal ?? ;-))

I've unearthed a 1940 aerial photo of Deepdale. Moor Park across the road has some strange markings on it, it has been suggested it was a prisoner of war camp. Has anyone any ideas?

Which one's Deepdale?

It looks strange without the floodlight pylons. If memory serves me right, didn`t the kick-off move forwards to 2pm in the winter months?

Deepdale's in the centre of the photo. Not sure what that pale blue blob is, surely not part of the original photo. I have a friend who's claimed he can recognise the nuildings on Moor Park. I'll have a word with him and post it later.
