Awww, Julie, no heels? But at least there are lots of pretty flat sandals around in summer. It's apity you can't come over this year - we'll get hold of you some time!
I am quite busy end of June and end of July, but name a date for a meet, folks, and I'll see what I can do. It'll be nice to see Karen again. I guess we should take this to the "meets" folder now to make any arrangements.

Hello Slip, are you related to Olive and if so do you also have a brother Frank, I remember he and Olive and big brother also visited The gables, Olive had a thing for a guy who drove a jag and Frank, well I was very smitten with him but had to leave to Manchester to do my nurse training, I really hope you are realated or that they are the people Im looking for, if you have a contact email would love to chat to them.Is Olive married now? is Frank still in leyland and their big brother also lived with them at their parents home he was devorced, cant remember his name, Bill or Bob,sorry!!!

Hi folks! I too remember the Gables when it was my doctor's as a child, there was a highish wall and the house surrounded by bushes and trees.
Big Al and I may be over in September, hopefully this time we'll have time to meet up in the Eagle and not have to devote ourselves to aged parents..

I think that must have been before my time, I can never remember it being anything other than a pub!!! I have had conflicting info on a few old mates who were regulars in late 70,s
irstly rank and Olive Wilson, Ive been told they still go there and that they both still live in Hertbert Street, yet someone else, who says he konws them well has suggested that rank had had a heart attatck and died a few years back....would really like to know either way???

Me too, but I don't remember the Gables as a Doctors, Our doc was O'Donnell who was drunk a lot of the time, he used to play records on his tape recorder (they were a novelty in those days)
