Regarding famous Leyland people, I wonder if anyone remembers a certain Mr. Bennett of perhaps 42 years ago ?
He was always active on a Monday morning !!

Noel, I'll wait a while to see if anyone does recall the famous,or perhaps more correctly phrased infamous, Mr Bennet.; if not I will reveal ! There used to be a local song about this guy too !
A clue is within the brackets, and, I'm afraid that Mr.B, was rather naughty !!

Sandieh, just a few more days to see who remembers what was happening 44 years ago in Leyland. I believe that Mr B had his own business , just like 'sniffer Grundy' had too , but Mr. B wasn't a tooth puller!
( the b in K.S.B. is for Bennet )

Well, it seems that no one other than myself is about to explain the mysterious antics of Mr.Bennett of over fourty years ago, and as it's approaching weekend perhaps I should address Sandieh's curiosity !
You will recall that numerous terraced houses had backyards and a gate which opened into what was termed 'the backs'!
Mr Bennett's Monday (washing day) activities included running through the 'backs' and pinching (collecting) 'ladies knickers' which were hung out to dry on clothes lines, hence k.s.b. (knicker snatcher Bennett) !
If this were to happen today ,I don't think it would even get a mention, as relative to todays 'activities', it is rather meek !
