Preston North End 2004-2005
Preston manager Billy Davies tonight insisted 'the time wasn't right for us to move on' after he and assistant David Kelly signed open-ended rolling contracts at Deepdale.
Davies was linked with the vacancies at both Hearts and Derby, but ended the uncertainty over his future by committing to the club he led to the brink of promotion to the Barclays Premiership.

Davies said: 'Having only been in charge for 10 months, both Ned (Kelly) and I were convinced that the time wasn't right for us to move on. We are now looking forward to giving another tremendous effort to bring success to Preston North End next season.'

In their cases, I hope the time is never `right`. At least for a few years, anyway.
